Family activities

Noordwijk is also famous for its family activities.  It comes as no surprise that there are tons of activities for children. The beach is of course the place to be for the kids, especially with great weather. But when the weather’s not as good, they can still horse around, play and engage in sports. The dunes are great for exploring: try to spot animals like dear or birds of prey and see which trees or plants you can recognise. The basis for entertainment has been there since time immemorial.

At Beach pavilion Het Zuiderbad, children can climb and clamber in the fences near the play dune, or get busy digging for treasure.

“Kids Film Club”
Noordwijk has a May, summer and Christmas theatre. On Wednesday and Friday afternoons, theatre the Muze turns into in a Kids Film Club. www.demuzenoordwijk.nl

Pancakes

The kids can enjoy delicious pancakes at Hans en Grietje, ‘t Pannenkoekenhuisje at the esplanade or ‘Pancake farm’ Langs Berg en Dal.

Beach restaurant Nederzandt

Near the Langevelderslag, there’s a large restaurant with an indoor and outdoor kids place. The activities and event organisation The Strand is also located here. They take care of the organisation and execution of a broad range of challenging beach activities.

Space Expo

“Noordwijk Space city”
Noordwijk is home base of ESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Centre). The Space Expo is barely a 5-minute drive from Noordwijk: Europe’s first space travel exhibition with rockets, lunar module, artificial satellites and much more. Adventurepark Rollygolf

Naturalis

“Variation in nature”
In Leiden, approx. 20 minutes from Noordwijk, you can find Biodiversity Center Naturalis. With a world-class collection, they collect, save and study animals, plants and rocks. In the middle of fossils millions of years old, there are two gigantic dinosaurs. Stuffed monkeys, birds of prey, birds, fish and plants show the amazing diversity of nature. Amusement park Duinrell

Amusement park Duinrell in Wassenaar is a 20-minute drive from Noordwijk. A day off in Duinrell isn’t complete until you’ve taken a dive in the tropical Tikibad. With 10 slides, the Tikibad is the largest indoor waterslide paradise of the Benelux.
