7 tips for a safe day on the beach with children
There is nothing worse than losing
your child at the beach, which suddenly seems much larger than it is. Be
prepared and discuss with the children what to do in case of losing each other.
- Keep an eye on children both in the water as on
the beach. Being in the water stay an arm´s length away from small children.
- Do not use butterfly-straps on your children´s
arms in the sea, regarding the influence of wind, currents and waves.
- Put an SOS-bracelet on your children´s wrist,
with the name of the child and your mobile number (with country code) on it. Carry
your mobile with you all the time, switched on and sufficiently charged.
- Upon arrival on the beach, speak about a
recognizable point where you meet if you lose each other, for example a beach
bar or an easy to remember image on the beach flag.
- Have you lost your child? Warn the Rescue
Brigade instantly, report it to a beach bar and start
searching immediately.
- A stray child usually runs away with the sun in
the back. Girls with long hair often walk with upwind.
- Have you found your child? Do not get angry at
your child, but show how glad you are and comfort your child if necessary.
